Reverse Engineering and Product Analysis
At Marcotte Enterprises, we love to take things apart! We have learned many things about many things by taking things apart. It's more than disassembling a product. It's about:
- Understanding how the product works.
- How it is assembled and the components used.
- Where are its faults.
- What novel methods or components were used.
- How common are the practices involved in it's production relative to other products.
In analyzing a dishwasher's assembly, we discovered that it used the same type of water pump as is used in aquarium filters. Diverse experiences are helpfull in evaluating a product whether it is for patent usage, failure analysis, determining product improvement areas or in documenting important features of an item relative to our customer's perspective. In our engineering laboratory, we can document the details or a product's assembly and operation with pictures, schematics and oscilloscope traces. Custom testing assemblies can be propared as required. Using Adobe's Creaive Suite we then prepare formal reports documenting our observations and recommendations. If patent usage is of interest, we can propare evidence of use and claim charts to document potential patent infringements, patent avoidance techniques and novelty areas where an invention may be claimed.
